Something I didn’t know
The Greek playwright Aeschylus died in 456 B.C. when:
“As legend has it, an eagle, mistaking the playwright’s bald crown for a stone, dropped a tortoise on his head “– Wikipedia.
Why have I not heard of this before?
Family Circus
More music…
I partied till 3 a.m. last night and I’m really not into the whole “work” thing today… So, I present you with the recently deceased Pavarotti:
Feist – 1 2 3 4
Video from the latest iPod commercial. I hate that they pick music that I actually like. I hate being a member of the target audience.
It is a groovy tune though…
Apple and the $200 iPhone price drop
Update: I’m taking some of my kudos back, the $100 is an Apple Store credit.
Therefore, we have decided to offer every iPhone customer who purchased an iPhone from either Apple or AT&T, and who is not receiving a rebate or any other consideration, a $100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store. Details are still being worked out and will be posted on Apple’s website next week. Stay tuned.Â
Though I’m a big Apple fan-boy, I’m generally a pragmatic one. I know they aren’t perfect, but their design sense is amazing, and they sure as hell dropped a bomb on the mobile device market with the iPhone. That said, how many other companies would offer up a $100 rebate just to keep their followers happy? I suspect very few.
New blog, for now
I’m damn fickle when it comes to web tech these days. In my old age I have grown weary of software development and server maintenance. In short, I just want to toss something up and have it work without a second thought. That has led me to a WordPress blog. That’s right, an entirely unexciting, industry-leading, PHP-runnin’ WordPress blog. Meh. I reserve the right to trade it for Quills or something spiffy in Django at any moment though…
